Week 3

So, on Monday, they taught me how to use the phones. My problem with this isn't the fact that I have a hard time answering (well, I don't quite know everyone's name yet), but that I can't hear them. I don't know why, but I just can't seem to hear them ring. By the time I realize they're ringing, someone else picks up.

On Tuesday, they took my phone away! How do I feel about this, you ask? Like this: ^_^

They took the phone away from the intern desk because we got two new interns who sit at the front. Since they act more like receptionists, they also get a phone.

On Friday, Scott taught Danny and me how to cut-up a photoshop document and use it in javelin to create a template. We learned some tricks about how to name images so all we had to do was copy an existing stylesheet and not change much of the existing code.

Javelin uses custom tags to add more areas of content, like sidebars. It's neat, but it'll take some getting used to. The nearest thing I've used like it was a little bit of JSP (Java Server Pages) and then I was on the development side, not the design side.

Next week, I'm supposed to do my own cut-up and make a template. I'm just hoping I don't screw up too badly.
